Our Story
Universal Possibilities, Inc., or UP, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose goal is to establish an innovative apartment community for independent individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the East Aurora area.
There exists a shortage of services for adults with I/DD, particularly concerning appropriate housing options. Our organization will be building a complex in East Aurora, NY that will have approximately 8 to 10 apartments. Our UpLift Wellness Program will place a strong emphasis on socialization, health, and wellness for residents.
Our wellness program sets us apart from other housing options since it will create spaces where residents can socialize, learn, engage in physical activity and enhance their well-being and quality of life. Residents can learn skills for self-direction and have the ability to advocate for help with their needs.
We are strongly committed to achieving our goal and are confident in our future success due to the passionate dedication and talents of our volunteers, which include teachers, administrators, business leaders, health professionals and hardworking individuals from many fields.
Our History
Universal Possibilities, Inc., was founded in April 2022. We began with a goal of helping individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families find appropriate housing and services.
Our three directors were previously members of Home of My Own of WNY, and they are proud to bring that experience to Universal Possibilities. In addition, all three have extensive business management experience and experience with individuals with I/DD, including educational experience.
Our Advisory Board members bring enthusiasm, expertise and experience to help guide our ongoing efforts.
Our Future

An important part of our East Aurora residential community is our UpLift Wellness Program which will allow residents to learn skills for self-direction and give them the ability to advocate for help with their needs. Together, we will create spaces where residents can live, learn, and thrive.
